Day 1

Upon arrival to Costa Rica, airport greeting and transfer to hotel. Visit Poas Volcano (active crater). Overnight in San Jose at Hotel Amon Plaza Clarion.

Day 2

Breakfast.  Morning departure on the bus to Mawamba.  The excursion will take you by bus to the Caribbean lowlands and later by boat to Tortuguero.  You will stay at Mawamba Lodge.  In the afternoon, tour of the town of Tortuguero.  Overnight Mawamba Lodge.

Day 3                                       

Early morning departure to explore the canals of the National Park by small boat, looking for toucans, monkeys, caimans and sloths.  Afterwards, your buffet breakfast will be awaiting you at the lodge.  The trip continues by boat back to Matina and after lunch in Rio Danta, transportation to the Tabacon Grand Spa, located on the slope of the Arenal Volcano.  Enjoy the hot springs as well as eruptions from this very active volcano.  Overnight at Tabacon Grand Spa.

Day 4

Buffet breakfast.  Morning free to take an optional tour, such as horseback riding to the Fortuna Waterfall, rafting or a hike on the volcano slope.  In the afternoon more time to enjoy the hot springs and the activity of the Arenal Volcano.  Overnight at Tabacon Grand Spa.

Day 5

Buffet Breakfast.  Shuttle bus departure around 8:20AM to take you down the coast to Manuel Antonio.  Early afternoon arrival to Hotel Playa Espadilla.  Enjoy the beach and relax.  Overnight at Playa Espadilla.

Day 6

Breakfast.  The day is yours to enjoy the beautiful Manuel Antonio National Park.  This park has two of the most beautiful white sand beaches of the Pacific Coast and nice trails for hiking and for observing nature.  Overnight at Playa Espadilla.

Day 7

Breakfast.  Day at leisure.  Take one of the optional tours, such as rafting, horseback riding, canopy tour or a sunset cruise.  Overnight at Playa Espadilla.

Day 8

Breakfast.  A leisurely morning.  Early afternoon departure on the shuttle bus for the trip back to San Jose.  Overnight in San Jose at Hotel Amon Plaza Clarion.

Day 9

Breakfast.  Afternoon transfer to the airport for departure back to the US.
